About us

The Diabetes UK West Dorset Group is one of over 336 voluntary groups situated throughout the UK.

Our aim is to provide support through education events for all those affected by daiabets. We place great emphasis on raising public awareness throughout Dorset.

We place great emphasis on raising public awareness throughout the our area. This includes having diabetes awareness events in local surgeries, a stand at Dorsets 2 Agricultural Shows, visits to the Dorchester Diabetes Centre and Dorset County Hospital. We also attend numerouse health events throughout the county.

We encourage those interested to attend our group meetings which are a welcoming and social environment for people to discuss diabetes and its effects. All of our group meetings are diabetes based. Support and companionship are some of the simplest yet most important aspects of living with diabetes. This is why our group exists and we want to help in any way that we can.

The Committee

The committee meets at regular intervals (currently monthly) to discuss any future events being organised locally by the group and any issues that effect our members.
